what i got from the game is that 2 brothers who were practicing a big alchemy did something wrong and one of the brothers lost his body and the other lost his arm. so the one who lost his arm (ed) did a human alchemy thing and transfered alphonsoe his borthers soul into a body of armor and lost his leg in the process so now ed has a metal leg and a metal arm

I already know that much. Jon told me about the main evil guys being the 7 sins.

Ed and Al Elric try to bring back their dead mother using Alchemy. It doesn't work correctly and Ed left leg and Al's whole body is consumed by this vortex of doom. Ed then sacrifices his right arm in order to bind Al's soul to a suit of armor. The two brothers then decide to go after the philospher's stone, which has enough power to bypass a law of alchemy called equivalent exchange, meaning in order to gain, you must first give something in exchange. They burn down their house and leave their hometown to become state alcemists. State Alchemists have acess to almost every single information source in the world, which would help the two brothers to find the philospher's stone.

They take an alchemy exam in order to become State Alchemists. Ed passes, but Al doesn't. Then they proceed to go on many adventures, helping people where they can, sometimes ending up hearing about the Philospher's Stone. The main bad guys are Lust, Envy and Gluttony, who are all human dolls with a cosience. There is also Scar, but he really isn't a bad guy. It's just the fact that Ed works for the government and Scar works against it. If I wasted your time with this, I apologize.

You better, that took me forever to type. Also, Ed and Al(when they were younger, before they tried to bring back their mother) were trained by a really good alchemist they know only as "teacher". She left them on an island for a month.
